Color ContourNoise

Date
July, 2022

Gradient noise — an N-dimensional interpolated lattice of psuedo-random values — is an invaluable tool for computer graphics. In this project I used the FastNoiseLite library to sample a variety of noise algorithms (not just the first, and most common "Perlin Noise", Ken Perlin's 1982 invention).

I traced the contours by using the Processing Isolines library (marching squares algorithm) to map how the noise values cohere in different patterns depending on the type of noise and it's settings.

In this variation, with color, the contour blobs are filled using my favorite method of tracing out gradient curves in colorspace.
